i suggest anyone who is looking into buying this game ignore this review. this dude obviously doesnt know what cell shaded graphics means. the combat in this game is amazingly fast paced especially if you are using an xbox paddle the character creater is amazing this is the only review iv seen that says otherwise. everything flows nicely now that they have worked out most of the glitches and if your bored of CoH and looking into this game you will like it
I had the graphix maxxed as well. So here is my oint on this. I used to play Champions, the rpg. This game was based on that. The rpg allows for much more, but the hype is there. I like Champions. But in all advertisements, the best of quality presented. Guild Wars was put out their like COH, but was very different to me when I got in. Pictures don’t always tell the whole story. If you like the game, go play it. No one is stopping you. I choose not to. There ya go.
I didn’t like the Wizard of Oz. And the graphix had nothing to do with why. Again, I have said some of the graphix were fine, some weren’t. I game for BOTH what I think are good graphix with good game play. Some of the gameplay also did not appeal to me. I play Might and Magic 6. Graphix suck, but great game to me. So, I am clearly not hung up on graphix issues. You guys are focusing more on that than I am.
@thedarkalcove
also, you said you saw video’s of the game and was sold, but then you complain about the graphics sucking. Couldn’t that have been judged by the videos? mabey you just didnt have them turned up enough to look good. I run on max graphics and it looks simply beautiful
@thedarkalcove
I agree with Galaxy, the graphics are not what you should play a game for. the wizard of oz was a great movie, but it had shitty effects
Well, I stated in the video that I liked the graphix regarding environment. I simply do not like the cartoonishness of the characters. Cell-padding and shadowing and all that are less essentual, but nice. COH has the graphix updated as well. And I agree that what COH offers as sweet is lacking in Champs. You make a good point both ways, Keyo.
The issue to me with Champions on line is it’s not as team based as City of Hero’s is/was. Whats so great about an MMO if the interaction between other people isn’t much of a factor. The best part of CoH was teaming with other hero’s. Sometimes I’d hang out with the same people for hours and have some great missions. CO isn’t like that so I can’t say I see the point most the time of playing online. And at $15 per month I can’t say I fully understand why it was made this way. The graphx are fine
The graphix is a bbig deal because we LOOK at the game to play it. But I did point out in a very vage manner another issue. Or I thought I did. I did not care for the key-mapping. I did not like the movement of the characters. But it did boil down to the look of the character for me. I enjoy playing Might & Magic games, so I can play games based on overall play and not graphix. Champions did not live up to my expectations.
Invalid? Are you kidding me? I played MULTIPLE times, wilth multiple characters? Who are you to tell me my opinion based upon myexperience is invalid? I didn’t say you didn’t have to like the game. I called the game a fail because of my experience. Your opinion about my experience is invalid.
Graphics don’t make the game. If people think so, it’s their opinion, but most people play games to see how the gameplay is. The graphics are just there to catch the eyes. Who cares if the graphics aren’t up to par? There’s hundreds of other reasons why to play, and just going out and implying ‘Champions Online fails because it’s graphics suck’ doesn’t get the point across. I could very well say the ‘graphics’ in this video are bad for a review as well in relation, but I’d be an ass then.
@thedarkalcove
Some people actually like the graphics. It is a different style called cell shading and they used some different art styles like the comic book outline if you want a more comic book like feel (which you can turn off if you need). IMO the graphics to the game are a plus. If you are going to review a videogame, at least play multiple aspects of it before posting something on youtube. Don’t worry, I’m not going to rate the video at all, but the is an invalid review of the game
@COglorbix , the graphix are HUGE part of any video game. T’is why they are called video games… The graphics. And game play is much like mosy others. And game sucks without good graphix. So, how is it wrong again?
i understand that this is your opinion on this game, but i think you should point that in on the video, rather than just saying that champions online fails. You seemed to be put off way too much by the graphics, which is wrong to judge a game by so much in my opinion. You did not even mention any gameplay other than the character creator.
I don’t know if buying it any other time would have made it a better game. I wish I hadn’t blown my money, but the lesson cost 30 bucks and I won’t soon forget what I have learned. WHEN ARE WE GETTING TOGETHER?

No, what I said was that this review was invalid. You did not include any thoughts on the gameplay. you just said the graphics sucked

COH’s graphics are worse than Champions

You bought it during mercury retrograde.
