This game desoeraty needs a tutorial mode, and it’s just not enjoyable to me, so I’ll stick to Beyond the Sword. I really don’y enjoy overbord realistic features, like how only 4 countries colonized, so you can only pick from 4, I mean come on, the last game had 34 civs. It doesn’t need to be so harshly strict. Some people may enjoy it, but I don’t.

the thing is if one was to play the portuguese it would either defy the history or one would hav a small part of brazil, there r no slaves in the game(none that i can recall just indentured servants, and petty criminals)
corn can be discovered and used by any1 and potatoes arent even mentioned, theres already too much in it.
its funny how some1 is discrediting the fact that their r no portuguese in the game and all of a sudden their talking about the usa, europe, and communism.
first of all portugal and spain had disputes on who owns what territories during those colonial times, then not wanting to fight eachother a line was drawn(or something like that)across the map and one side the spanish can own and the other the portuguese which coincidently the line went through part of brazil which the portuguese only

There are a few INCREDIBLY frustrating glitches in the game that haven’t been smoothed out.
In the North American scenario, you appear at the same spot just above South America every time. Your soldiers, even normal colonists, cannot become veteran soldiers like in the original game. Indians get pissed WAY quicker in this one and they can totally wreck your colonies in a heartbeat if they get the whim, which they could almost never do in the original.
you know what I find funny? That in this game, you HAVE to win through revolting against your mother country, and winning a war of indepedence. THAT’S extremely biased…

That’s because most of you take history lessons from videogames and hollywood movies that you are so ignorant. And that’s why I am against this game – because it shows a wrong version of the facts in a U:S: conditioned perspective. You are the Empire now… in case you don’t know… U.S. represents the evil in world nowadays.
You should be the one to return to school: the spanish didn’t take africans to america, portuguese did – all the african shore had portuguese colonies/forts.
